چکیده

Psychological status monitoring with cerebral blood flow (CBF), EEG and EOG measurements are attempted. Through experiments, it is confirmed that the proposed method for psychological status monitoring is valid. It is also found correlations among the amplitudes of peak alpha and beta as well as gamma frequency of EEG signals and EOG as well as cerebral blood flow. Therefore, psychological status can be monitored with either EEG measurements or cerebral blood flow and EOG measurements. Keywords—Cerebral Blood Flow; CBF; EEG; EOG; psychological status

Cerebral monitoring during carotid endarterectomy using near-infrared diffuse optical spectroscopies and electroencephalogram.

Intraoperative monitoring of cerebral hemodynamics during carotid endarterectomy (CEA) provides essential information for detecting cerebral hypoperfusion induced by temporary internal carotid artery (ICA) clamping and post-CEA hyperperfusion syndrome. This study tests the feasibility and sensitivity of a novel dual-wavelength near-infrared diffuse correlation spectroscopy technique in detectin...

Removal of Ocular Artifacts in the EEG through Wavelet Transform without using an EOG Reference Channel

This paper presents a statistical method for removing ocular artifacts in the electroencephalogram (EEG) records. Artifacts in EEG signals are caused by various factors, like line interference, EOG (electro-oculogram) and ECG (electrocardiogram). The removal of ocular artifact from scalp EEGs is of considerable importance for both the automated and visual analysis of underlying brainwave activi...

Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) for EEG Purging using Wavelet Analysis

The Electroencephalogram (EEG) is a biological signal that represents the electrical activity of the brain. Artifacts in EEG signals are caused by various factors, like line interference, EOG (electro-oculogram) and ECG (electrocardiogram). The removal of artifact from scalp EEGs is of considerable importance for analysis of underlying brainwave activity. The presence of artifacts such as muscl...

Artifact removal from EEG signals using adaptive filters in cascade

Artifacts in EEG (electroencephalogram) records are caused by various factors, like line interference, EOG (electro-oculogram) and ECG (electrocardiogram). These noise sources increase the difficulty in analyzing the EEG and to obtaining clinical information. For this reason, it is necessary to design specific filters to decrease such artifacts in EEG records. In this paper, a cascade of three ...

The effects of extreme hemodilutions on the autoregulation of cerebral blood flow, electroencephalogram and cerebral metabolic rate of oxygen in the dog.

The effects of profound (hematocrit value, Ht 20%) and extreme (Ht 5%) hemodilutions on the relationship between the mean arterial pressure (MAP) and the cerebral blood flow (CBF) were studied in pentobarbital-anesthetized dogs. A regression line was found between the CBF and Ht values during normotensive hemodilution (MAP 100 torr): CBF (ml/100g X min) = -98.9 log Ht (%) + 195.5 (p less than 0...
